He was called to the Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 2011. Recognized for his approachable nature and meticulous attention to detail, Kayani is frequently instructed in complex litigation across a range of industry sectors and has particular experience of commercial litigation and property disputes.
Notwithstanding that his civil practice has, by reason of his appointments, occupied a significant part of Kayani’s diary over recent years, he is equally focused on, and committed to, his criminal practice. Kayani routinely represents those accused of the full range criminal offences. He defends in cases involving serious violence, murder, fraud et cetera.
He is sought after by clients not only for the clarity of his advice and the care he takes to ameliorate the inevitable stress of protracted litigation, but principally for his unwavering determination to achieve the best possible result in each case in which he is instructed. Mr. Muhammad Ahmed Masood is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and previously worked as a Senior Partner at one of the country’s leading firms, before founding Kayani and Masood. While Mr. Masood appears before courts and tribunals throughout Pakistan, he is particularly recognized as one of the most prominent litigators before the principal seat of the High Court of Sindh at Karachi. During his years of practice, he has established himself as an adept litigator and has become known for his ability to identity the particular needs of his clients, and their circumstances, and deliver to them effectively.
Mr. Masood’s practice before the Bar has demonstrated a sound understanding of the law that is well grounded in research. Coupled with an argumentative style that is innovative and assertive he tackles even the most challenging propositions. He enjoys a challenge in every area of litigation spanning tax, banking, public procurement, customs, elections disputes as well as claims pertaining to labour/service. Mr. Masood has a particular interest in constitutional challenges to building and zoning regulation and frequently advices and represents in the real estate and development sectors.

Mr. Shariq A. Razzak possesses considerable experience in constitutional litigation, banking suits, public procurement, and property law. Moreover, Mr. Razzak is deeply involved with the firm’s pro-bono and human rights work which allows him to represent marginalized communities in matters pertaining to housing and encroachment, healthcare, and education.

Mr. Baig has the distinction of having served as a Law clerk at the Supreme Court of Pakistan and as an associate to the Attorney General for Pakistan, where he had the opportunity to work on cutting edge constitutional disputes involving the disqualification of parliamentarians, judicial misconduct, and disputes emanating from the 18th Constitutional Amendment. Prior to joining this firm, Mr. Baig worked at a leading international arbitration firm in the Middle East.
Mr. Baig’s practice is complimented by his academic approach to the law. His is a public commentator on the politics of the law, featuring frequently across print and electronic media. Unsurprisingly, while he enjoys a challenge in every sphere of litigation, he has a particular interest in constitutional challenges to legislative and executive action. He has successfully represented some of Pakistan’s leading pharmaceutical companies against federal regulatory and taxation policies.
At Kayani & Masood, his practice spans disputes in the realm of commercial and constitutional law, tax, public procurement, arbitration property and zoning laws.
Abdul Moiz Jaferii

Mr. Abdul Moiz Jaferii has been teaching and practicing law since 2007. He is a litigator and corporate advisor based out of Karachi; with a visiting consultancy In Dubai.
Mr Jaferii is also a public commentator on the politics of the law as well as the socio political environment of the country and the region. In this capacity, he features frequently across print and electronic media both nationally and internationally.
Mr. Jaferii enjoys a challenge in every area of litigation, but has a particular interest in constitutional challenges to imperfect executive actions. He has successfully represented commercial clients against over reaching federal regulatory and taxation policies, contractors against tendering illegalities and media houses against illegal censorship. His advisory experience includes restructuring real estate master planners, acquisitions in the retail sector as well as the sale of a major broadcast media channel.
